I don't。。。 get it。 It's a children's book, and I literally don't understand what's happening。 Are the animals trying to get their children to say "DADA" and they're saying natural noises, instead? But then they all say DADA at the end? What。。。 why?Honestly, I like Jimmy Fallon, and I love the artist's work here。 I went into this book wanting to love it。 But。。。I don't get it :/ I don't。。。 get it。 It's a children's book, and I literally don't understand what's happening。 Are the animals trying to get their children to say "DADA" and they're saying natural noises, instead? We are reading this book as a part of the 1000 books by kindergarten challenge。 Many are borrowed and some are owned but we wanted to track the journey so that we would know which ones we loved the most!Owned or Borrowed: Borrowed but this is one we would happily ownNumber of times read: multipleAge read: 5 monthsWhat we loved: Baby A loved the animal sounds and the pictures!Themes to be cautious about: None

Mort's Kids

This is basically a single, extended joke。 As such, re-readibility is lacking and this is Jimmy Fallon we're talking about, so let's be honest, even that joke isn't all that funny。 Still, the art is cute and, at a meta level, I like that it's one extended dad joke。 This is basically a single, extended joke。 As such, re-readibility is lacking and this is Jimmy Fallon we're talking about, so let's be honest, even that joke isn't all that funny。 Still, the art is cute and, at a meta level, I like that it's one extended dad joke。 。。。more

Illustrations are awesome! But essentially that’s all there is to it so 3 stars。 Also the stubborn duck is my favorite。

While snatching publishing and public library funds away from people who are deeply invested picture books Fallon also manages to avoid crediting the illustrator (who did most if the actual work) on the cover。 Speaking of the illustrations, they are a bit inconsistent but who cares cause its all for babies anyway。 What do they know? For that matter, what do I know?

A cute book for toddlers who are just beginning to read pictures

Cute little board book with mamas and babies。 The mamas want the babies to say the names of objects, but the babies just say mama。

Got this because it is written by Jimmy Fallon。 It's a cute book and my little one loves to look at the animals。 Got this because it is written by Jimmy Fallon。 It's a cute book and my little one loves to look at the animals。 。。。more

Similar to the Mama book, my kid loves it, I thought it was cute at first but it tires pretty quickly。

Julian loved it, what more can I say

My son is 14 months now and he loves this book。 He laughed when I say squeak after dada and more animal sounds in the book。 Also he said dada after reading this book many many times。 He didn’t interested in the other two books Mama and Baby。 I think he likes the sounds of dada more。

Madelaine Pope

The 7-month-old loved this book and the different animal sounds。 I discovered that he thinks donkey impressions are hilarious。

Greyson

Dada!

Erin Darmody

Daphne was more interested in my face while I made the animal noises。 She only looked at one page。

Karen

Again, I mean, it’s Jimmy Fallon! Cute, simple illustrations and a fun concept。 Not as cute as “Mama” though。

Paul Spangler

Fun, entertaining read with a baby。

Where is the button for having read a book hundreds of times? A household favorite。

For: animal fans; readers looking for a simple book with animal noises。Possible red flags: seems more targeted towards parents/caregivers (not adult humor, but the concept of "Dada" as the first word will be lost on young readers)。 For: animal fans; readers looking for a simple book with animal noises。Possible red flags: seems more targeted towards parents/caregivers (not adult humor, but the concept of "Dada" as the first word will be lost on young readers)。 。。。more

Luke gave this board book to his daddy for Father’s Day this year。I normally don’t go for books “written” by celebrities。 Call me bitter, but stay in your lane, okay? You’ve got enough money and renown。 Alright, I’m off my soapbox。 And I did eat my words a little bit on this one, because it IS adorable:Animals ✅1-word per page ✅Simple ✅Bright colors ✅Cute and satisfying ending ✅It IS an excellent board book for beginning readers to grow up with。

Cute and simple。 I think mom and dad might get a kick out of it more than baby, but it would definitely make a cute addition to the bookshelf in baby's room。 Cute and simple。 I think mom and dad might get a kick out of it more than baby, but it would definitely make a cute addition to the bookshelf in baby's room。 。。。more

Alright, I have to give it five stars。 My son ADORED this book and, using this book, I was able to teach him all the animals and their sounds。 I know it may not be what the book says exactly but。。。creative parenting, take advantage of the interest。

This is a cute book but VERY simple。 Funny to adults because we all know that most kids DO say DADA first! You can make it more fun and interactive with the kids by making realistic animal noises and asking the child to identify the animal and the sound they make。
